Dragons Range Will Deploy Meru Networks 802.11ac Wi-Fi at Clubhouse to Deliver Uninterrupted Internet Access to Tenants
by Meru Networks
(Bracknell, UK, 31st January, 2013) Meru Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:MERU), a leader in virtualized wireless LAN solutions, will demonstrate how it is bringing personalised uninterrupted learning capabilities to schools across the UK at BETT 2013. Responsible for deploying Wi-Fi networks to more than 2,500 schools in the UK and Ireland, Meru will join qualified partners at the show to provide full classroom demonstrations of its Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) provisioning and guest management software, voice, video, and high-density Wi-Fi capabilities.
The company, which announced its Meru Education-Grade (MEG™) wireless platform last November, comprising Meru’s BYOD provisioning and guest management software and virtualised wireless LAN solutions, helps education IT departments support academic goals to deliver learning-essential applications over Wi-Fi networks. Designed to handle high-density environments, where very large numbers of mobile users are logging onto the network at simultaneously, Meru’s unique architecture enables schools to benefit from school-wide learning through mobile devices.
Meru customer, Essa Academy in Bolton, has recently become the ‘technology trailblazer’ for this type of learner-led personalised learning environment. Pushing the boundaries of education, Essa Academy has issued all pupils with iPads for both schoolwork and homework – one of the largest deployments of Apple devices operating over a Meru wireless network. Essa has not only reduced its £80,000 photocopying bill to £15,000 a year, but has pioneered the concept of 21st century learning and teaching.
Additionally, in 2012, Meru announced it will provide state of the art Wi-Fi connectivity to over 350,000 teachers and pupils in 1,200 schools in Northern Ireland. The cloud-based network – the first of its kind in education in Europe– was designed to create a dynamic, future-proof, flexible service that will give schools increased access to learning resources and enable teachers and pupils to better collaborate and communicate.
“During BETT, attendees who visit stand F325 and our demonstration facility in North Gallery Suite 16, will see why over 10 schools a week are currently choosing our technology,” according to David Kelly, vice president of international sales for Meru Networks. “We want to encourage educational establishments to continue to use Wi-Fi technology to enhance their learning environments, and to incorporate and integrate mobile, video, voice more and more. Essa Academy is leading the way and we’re proud to be working with them and thousands more schools to create the ultimate uninterrupted learning experience.”
Following the company’s acquisition of Identity Networks in 2011, Meru’s Identity Manager solution will be featured at BETT 2013, showing visitors that guest and student mobile devices can securely connect to a Wi-Fi network with minimum fuss and maximum security and performance.
BETT 2013 visitors can see Meru on stand F325 or visit the company’s demonstration facility at North Gallery Suite 16. The facility will be open on Thursday 31 January and Friday 1 February, with demonstrations running every full hour starting from 10:00am through 16.00pm.
