(August 25, 2014) Microsoft (News - Alert) keeps stringent guidelines for voice and video quality over Microsoft Lync's unified communication platform. These guidelines are to ensure quality in the product, as Microsoft does not want customers to experience choppiness, but are so strict that 802.11ac Wi-Fi solutions haven't received support. However Meru Networks, an intelligent Wi-Fi networking vendor, may have solved this issue with its announcement that it completed Microsoft Lync's 802.11ac qualification tests. This should allow support for the popular Wi-Fi format, leading to an incredibly high level of unified communication performance.
